2019 Summer Residency at the National Humanities Center DEADLINE

February 1, 2019

2019 Summer Residency at the National Humanities Center (deadline Friday, February 1, 2019)

The Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere, with the support of the Robert and Margaret Rothman Endowment for the Humanities, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) and the College of the Arts (COTA), is pleased to announce a one-month residency at the National Humanities Center (NHC) in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina for the period of June 3-28, 2019. One residency will be awarded from UF. Faculty from CLAS and COTA are eligible to apply. The NHC will make available its unique facilities to assist the summer resident in making substantial progress on a humanities-research project. This includes the use of an individual office in the NHC’s quiet, light-filled glass building, suitable housing within driving distance, breakfast and lunch from the in-house chef and baker Monday-Friday, books  and digital library materials requested prior and during the stay, and IT support during residency. NHC summer residents are responsible for their own transportation to North Carolina and while at the NHC, as well as evening and weekend meals. There is no honorarium or stipend attached to the residency, but applicants may apply for the Humanities Center’s Rothman Faculty Summer Fellowship or other sources of funding as needed to support miscellaneous living expenses during the NHC summer residency.
