Dylan King

Dylan King is an Academic Advisor for both the Intersections Scholars Program, and for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Dylan received his degrees in flute performance from the University of Florida (MM ’17), and Stetson University (BM ’15). His recent awards and achievements include winning the 2018-2019 UF Outstanding New Advisor Award from the Office of Academic Affairs, and the 2019 Global Community of Academic Advising (NACADA) Outstanding New Advisor Award, Certificate of Merit. Dylan presented on “Academic Advising for Online Students” at the 2019 Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Accelerate conference, and was elected UF Undergraduate Advising Council (UAC) Campus Affairs Chair for the 2020-2022 academic years.

In addition to his professional advising, Dylan teaches a small private flute studio, serves as a substitute flutist for the Gainesville Orchestra and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, conducts and directs the Gainesville Flute Ensemble, and holds a position on the Board of Directors for the Florida Flute Association (FFA), and the FFA College Young Artist Competition Chair.

Dylan feels exceptionally fortunate combine his passions for music and student success in his professional career, guiding others to achieve their goals, and utilize their education, talents, and skills to the fullest!
