Ready, Set, Resume Review: An Introduction to HES and a Resume Workshop with the Career Connections Center
Join us on Zoom on Thursday, January 13 at 4: 30 pm to learn about the Humanities Engagement Scholars program and its events for the spring 2022 semester. We will also have an interactive workshop with Keira Simmonds on crafting the perfect resume for internships, research applications, and more!

About the workshop
In this presentation, Keira Simmonds, Senior Assistant Director for Campus Initiatives, will help humanities students understand the purpose and power of a resume when searching for various experiences. Humanities students will leave knowing the proper content, style, and format for resume development in addition to identifying strategies to strengthen this document.

Podemos Initiative Seminar: Overview of LinkedIn
We invite you to join us on February 23 at 5: 30 pm at the Reitz Union (Fishbowl in Multicultural and Diversity Affairs on the second level of the Reitz Union) for a workshop with Alexandra Simon, UF Career Connections Center, on creating a successful LinkedIn profile for your academic and professional careers. In this presentation, students will unleash the hidden power of LinkedIn. We will cover strategies to build an “all-star” profile from scratch and teach how to use LinkedIn to grow and nurture professional networks. As a result, students will build their brand, demonstrate thought leadership, advance their career, and even generate leads.

Interview Strategies with the Career Connections Center
Join the HES program at the Reitz Union Exploration Room (1319) on Thursday, March 17 at 4: 40 pm, for a workshop on how to have a successful interview. In this event, Keira Simmonds, Senior Assistant Director for Campus Initiatives, will provide interviewing techniques and strategies to students, allowing them to gain more confidence when interviewing for part-time, full-time, internship, volunteer, or extracurricular positions.
