Humanities Exchanges: Reports by CHPS-sponsored Reading Groups

March 5, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Online – Register to Attend at: https://ufl.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJIldOGhrTsiEt3cjQCDL4Jplnez5spbnLov

In 2019, the Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere initiated a new program awarding small grants to faculty, staff, and graduate students to form reading groups on humanities themes. Join us for an intimate discussion with conveners and members of the four 2020-21 reading groups as they share their experience of exploring a humanities topic during this academic year. Group members will also reflect upon what they have learned throughout the process of communicating across disciplines and, in some cases, with community groups. Faculty members from different units at UF will present findings on such diverse topics as the “Black Education Research Collective,” “Cultural Studies in the Arts,” “Human – Animal Studies,” and a returning group examining “’In Praise of Uselessness’.” The event will be of particular interest to those considering applying for the 2021-22  Reading Groups in the Humanities Grant (deadline March 26, 2021).

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact: humanities-center@ufl.edu
