To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy on the 51st anniversary of his assassination in Memphis, Dr. Roxane Coche, Assistant Professor in the Department of Telecommunication, is hosting a special screening of her movie Once More at the River: From MLK to BLM with the Black Student Union. The one-hour documentary explores the rich and continuing history of political activism in Memphis since Dr. King’s assassination there in 1968. This story, told through oral history interviews of more than 20 Memphis-based activists and officials, focuses on the history in Memphis and illuminates the national struggle for Civil Rights.
