Symposium on Trust In Media and Technology
February 19, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm
FreeThe Consortium on Trust In Media and Technology is a collaborative effort led by the College of Journalism and Communications in partnership with the Wertheim College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, informatics institute, and the George Smathers Libraries.
The Consortium’s mission is to foster a diverse community of scholars and thought leaders who will build an unparalleled ecosystem for the study of how media and technology can become more trustworthy, and develop programs for the application of new knowledge and tools and the creation of new policy and law.
As part of its “moonshot program”, UF granted $1.25 million to launch the Consortium, a multidisciplinary initiative that will address the erosion of trust in American institutions.
UF’s goal is to assemble 100 scholars who are examining the role of trust and trustworthiness.
If you are interested in participating in this effort involving scholars and practitioners across UF’s campus, the kick-off event will be held on Tuesday, February 19 from 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm in Emerson Alumni Hall with a reception to follow.
A Pilot Project Program with $50,000 in seed funding will be introduced.
