Digital Humanities Working Group – Meeting and Lightning Round
January 31, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeAt this meeting of the UF Digital Humanities Working Group, David Schwieder will be presenting on “Simulations for the Digital Humanities.”
This session will examine several types of computer simulations, and discuss how they might achieve wider usage in digital humanities projects. These simulations use rule-based systems to produce novel, dynamic inferences, and thus they may be able to support and advance research in several humanities fields. Examples of social science and digital humanities simulations will be presented.
David Schwieder is Liaison to the UF Political Science Department, and the Coordinator of Humanities and Social Science Data Services at the George A. Smathers Libraries. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Sponsored by Smathers Libraries.
