Black Faculty and Staff Recruitment and Retention at UF Project Virtual Town Hall

The faculty and researchers of the Black Faculty and Staff Recruitment and Retention at UF Project in association with the African American Studies Program, UF Black Effort, and the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program cordially invite the greater UF community to their upcoming Town Hall on Wednesday, November 3 at 6 pm. The Black Faculty and Staff Recruitment and Retention at UF Project’s grant committee is led by Dr. Sharon Austin. The committee members are Professors Sharon Austin, David Canton, Hazel Levy, Michele Manuel, Robert Stevenson Jr., Paul Ortiz, Bernell Tripp, Association for Black Faculty and Staff President Deon Winchester, and graduate student representatives Yewande O. Addie, Adania Flemming, and George Topalidis. During this event, Dr. Hazel Levy will present her statistical research on Black Faculty Recruitment and Retention at UF. This presentation will be followed by a short documentary that summarizes some of the experiences that UF faculty, former faculty, staff, and former staff recalled from their time at UF. This documentary is the work of student researchers from the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program and features interviews that they conducted. A Q&A session between Mr. Deon Winchester and Dean Onye P. Ozuzu will follow the documentary. Finally, the town hall will conclude with an open floor for questions. Zoom link.
