Thursday, October 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Learn how to connect your students with faculty and other students around the world through virtual exchange and UF’s Collaborative International= Teaching Network (CITN). By interacting online with peers in other regions of the world and by collaborating in projects, students develop broader perspectives on global issues and acquire important global and digital skills.
Workshop Facilitator:
Sarah Guth is a lecturer in English as a Foreign Language at the University of Padova, Italy and an expert in Virtual Exchange. She worked as Program Coordinator for the SUNY Center for Collaborative Online International Learning in 2013-2014 and continues to work as an independent contractor for COIL Consulting. She was the professional development lead for the SUNY COIL Stevens Initiative in 2015-2016. She carries out research on technology in foreign language teaching, COIL, telecollaboration, virtual exchange and intercultural communicative competence and has published widely in these fields. She is currently President of UNICollaboration and is Project Manager for the sub-contract UNICollaboration has with the European Commission for the new Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange Project.
The workshop will consist of a morning session, lunch, and an afternoon session. (It is possible to attend just half day.) RSVP to outreach@latam.ufl.edu by 9/28/18.
