Clarissa Carr joined the Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere in September 2025 as Digital Scholarship Specialist. In this role, she partners with faculty and researchers to integrate digital scholarship methods and tools into course materials and research initiatives, supporting interdisciplinary collaborations that advance humanities research and public engagement. She develops and leads workshops, consultations, and instructional resources to empower faculty and students in the effective use of digital tools, project design, and sustainable digital research practices.

Before joining CHPS, Dr. Carr served as a Research Assistant Professor in the University of Florida’s Historic Preservation Program, where she taught courses on digital storytelling, interpretive design, and heritage communication. Her work has included developing ArcGIS StoryMap walking tours, curating museum exhibits such as Sweet Beginnings: Unwrapping St. Augustine’s Chocolate Legacy, and authoring the successful National Register nomination for Lakeshore Towers, a 1965 modernist high-rise.
