Humanities Writing Retreat 2020

May 4, 2020 - May 8, 2020

Free

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere is canceling its annual Humanities Writing Retreat at the Austin Cary Forest. Instead, the Humanities Center is offering a Virtual Humanities Writing Support Group, which will focus on the transition from teaching to writing.

The new deadline to RSVP is May 3, 2020 at 9:00 am with an email to Barbara Mennel at mennel@ufl.edu.

Turn off your cell phone! Dust off your writing project! Finish your article! Jump-start your grant-proposal! Edit your book manuscript! Write your blog!

Open to all UF scholars with writing projects in the humanities, including graduate students. Availability is not limited but participants must register by the deadline. Hours are negotiable but participants must commit to writing daily. With daily check-ins, the focus will be on the transition from teaching to writing. Attendance of a collective zoom meeting on Monday, May 4 at 9:00 am and participation in a buddy-system is required for participation.

The Writing Retreat is organized by the Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere.
