Digital Assembly Spring Symposium: Embodied Interventions

February 21, 2019 - February 22, 2019

Free

The annual Digital Assembly Spring Symposium this year is called Embodied Interventions, featuring Drs. David Parisi, Jennifer Rhee, and Annette Vee for a two-day event February 21-22, with invited talks and a coding workshop all focused on the concept of embodiment and its increased importance in digital media studies scholarship.

Dr. Parisi, Associate Professor of Emerging Media at College of Charleston, and Dr. Rhee, Associate Professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University, will first be giving invited talks on Thursday, February 21 at 3:00 PM in the UF Informatics Institute, Lecture Room. Then Dr. Vee, Associate Professor of English at University of Pittsburgh, will be leading a coding workshop on Friday, February 22 at 10:00 AM in Smathers Library West’s Scott Nygren Scholars Studio. Light refreshments will be served at both events, and we invite any and all students and/or faculty to attend.

Come see the latest interventions in digital media/humanities/rhetoric scholarship and support the work that your peers or students in the Digital Assembly have been doing this year. You can find all the information you should need on the event’s webpage.
